
New Delhi/Bay of Bengal: The Indian Army has successfully conducted a combat launch of the long-range BrahMos Supersonic Cruise Missile, marking a significant boost to the nation’s long-range precision-strike capabilities and reinforcing its commitment to defense self-reliance.
The test, which was carried out over the Bay of Bengal on Monday, December 1, 2025, involved a meticulously coordinated mission that saw the missile hit its designated target with pinpoint accuracy.

- Precision and Speed: In a statement, the Army’s Southern Command confirmed that the BrahMos “roared across the Bay of Bengal… showcasing unmatched precision, speed and destructive prowess.” The successful strike on the target reaffirmed India’s ability to deliver decisive long-range precision strikes.

The BrahMos, which has a top speed of nearly Mach 3, is considered the world’s fastest operational cruise missile. Its proven combat performance has also reportedly garnered significant international interest, with India nearing finalization of defense export deals worth approximately USD 450 million to supply the missile to friendly nations.
